Meet the farmer

Sophie Soloway

Sophie is the current owner of Hocus Pocus Farm. Her first farming experience was as a WWOOF volunteer during college.  She managed the Urban Environmental Lab community garden at Brown, worked on Castaway Farm in Portsmouth RI, and was a crew member at Casey Farm in Saunderstown RI.  She has moonlighted as the CRAFT workshop coordinator for the Rhode Island Northeast Organic Farming Association, and she is a part-time nursing student at the Community College of Rhode Island.  She will someday be a midwife-farmer.
